General NOV Improvements

Support for .NET Core 7.0

NOV has a native build for .NET Core 7.0, in addition to the supported builds for .NET Framework 4.7.2+ and .NET Core 5.0, .NET Core 6.0 and .NET Core 6.0.

Chart Improvements

The new version includes a new OpenGL hardware accelerated 3D rendering engine, which is currently available in the WPF and WinForms editions of the control. The new rendering engine is specifically optimized to perform GPU accelerated rendering and antialiasing.

The new version includes the following new 3D charting types:

• 3D Area Chart with many variations – Categorical 3D Area, XY Scatter 3D Area, Stacked 3D Area and 3D Smooth Area
• 3D Bar Chart with many variations – Categorical 3D bar, XYZ Scatter bar, XYZ Scatter Stack, XYZ Scatter Cluster, and XYZ Scatter Stack Cluster
• 3D Bubble Chart – Categorical 3D Bubble, XYZ Scatter Bubble
• 3D Error Bar Chart – Categorical 3D Error Bar, XYZ Scatter 3D Error Bar
• 3D High Low Chart – Categorical 3D High Low, and XY Scatter 3D High Low
• 3D Line Chart – Categorical 3D Line, Stacked 3D Line, XYZ Scatter Line, 3D Step Line, 3D Smooth Line
• 3D Point – Categorical 3D Point, XYZ Scatter Point
• 3D Range – XYZ Range Chart
• 3D Vector – XYZ Vector Chart
• 3D Funel – Standard and Scatter 3D Funnel Chart
• 3D Pie – Standard and Doughnut 3D Pie Chart

Other Chart improvements include a new designer, improved image export capabilities, and bug fixes.

Diagram Improvements

The new version of the diagram component in NOV includes the following improvements

• Support for reading of Visio 2003-2010 Drawings (VSD files)
• Improved SVG export
• Support for embedded 2D and 3D charts

Gauge Improvements

The new version includes two new Gauge widgets:

• Led Text Display widget – this widget can display arbitrary text using one of the supported cell styles.
• State Indicator widget – this panel can be used to selectively display a shape from a set of shapes with specified filling and stroke.

In addition, the Gauge control features many new examples showing how to modify the gauge axes and indicators as well as how to combine different gauge elements.

Rich Text Improvements

The new version adds new Bookmark features to the control, along with support for reading and exporting text documents with Bookmarks in DOCX, RTF and HTML formats.
